Strategic Partners

The Durham Teaching School Alliance is supported by Durham County Council. The Local Authority provides school improvement services across a large geographical area and across all phases. The strong and effective partnership enables a wide range of experienced and specialist personnel to plan and deliver bespoke intervention programmes, courses, events and training for schools.

High Force Education SCITT (School Centred Initial Teacher Training) is a consortium of Infant, Junior and Primary schools in Co. Durham, Darlington and North Yorkshire, with the lead school and central base being based at Green Lane Church of England Primary School. High Force Education offers high quality training for graduates wishing to teach in primary schools. A one-year full time course leads to Qualified Teacher Status and the award of a Post Graduate Certificate of Education or a Professional Graduate Certificate in Education validated by the University of Northumbria at Newcastle.

Leadership for the North East is licenced by the National College for Teaching and Leadership to deliver the leadership curriculum programmes in the North East region. There are two lead schools, both outstanding,at the heart of the partnership- Lingley House Primary School in Gateshead and St Bede's Catholic School and Sixth Form College in County Durham as well as many partner schools. NPQML is for middle leaders who are leading a team. NPQSL is for more senior leaders who has some responsibility for leading across the whole school. NPQH is for those who aspire to be Headteachers. Programmes are delivered across the region by serving leaders and experienced facilitators  
Northumbria University, in Newcastle upon Tyne, is an expanding multicultural learning community, with excellent links with further and higher education, industry and commerce throughout the UK, Europe and beyond. Renowned for the excellence of its teaching, as well as for preparing students for the world of work, Northumbria also provides research opportunities for professional reflective practice. Northumbria University is working in partnership with the Durham Teaching School Alliance to deliver the new Early Years Teacher Status School Direct qualification.
