The Durham Teaching School Alliance has a data base of specialist practitioners who offer school to school support. (NLEs, LLEs, SLEs and Lead Teachers)
In order to strengthen and diversify our offer and support more schools we are looking for Lead Practitioners.
Applications are invited from experienced and innovative school practitioners. We want to hear from: Teaching Assistants, HLTAs, Learning Mentors, Attendance Officers, Parent Support Advisers, Office Managers, Caretakers, Lunchtime Supervisors… and/or anyone who contributes to school improvement and effectiveness.
We know that good and outstanding schools have strong teams that contribute positively to the culture of improvement. If you would like to share your practice and expertise with colleagues from other schools we want to hear from you.
There is no deadline for applications and no restriction on the number of applications per school. We do ask that your application is endorsed and supported by a reference from your Headteacher, so you must discuss your application with your Headteacher. When you have completed your sections of the application form send your application electronically to the Headteacher who will provide a reference for you and send the application to the teaching school.
You will not be asked to engage in outreach work or prepare additional materials that could increase your workload. Colleagues who wish to observe your practice or request advice will make contact with your school directly. Visits to the school will be made by appointment and will be subject to the capacity of the school.
This is not a funded role but there are benefits to you and your school as the strength of your practice is highlighted and your experience and expertise is shared with colleagues and across schools.
